The Villapando family emigrated from Cavite City to San Diego. Emmanuel Villapando, the patriarch, joined the U.S. Air Force serving as a jet engine engineer and earning citizenship. He then served as an administrative officer for the airforce. His family, including his wife and three children, immigrated to San Diego with him. The Villapando family continues to live in Southern California.
