Obille Family

Teofilo Obille, the Obille family patriarch, served in the U.S. Navy. Despite high test scores, he, like other Filipinos of the era, were forced to enter the service as a steward for officers. Teofilo worked his way to working in the engine room and ultimately as a Company Commander at the Naval Training Center, San Diego. His service allowed his wife to emigrate to live near the Naval base in San Diego.
